Hello, my name is Katherina Saunders and I am here to guide and advise you in the decision making that can be so difficult when redecorating your home.
My work life has been varied and diverse. Working in haute couture fashion, antique furniture, PR.
I founded Coquette Cuisine catering company and following 12 years as a designer and creator of my own accessories range 'Ella's Kitchen Company', I gained an ability to spot what is right and what is not. I have traveled extensively often returning home with beautiful objects and fabrics and I love architecture and design.
My career change to Interiors Consultant was wrought while working on an interior redecorating project of my own. In a moment of self-doubt I felt I needed professional advice just to let me know if I was doing the right thing. As hard as I looked I could not find anyone to fill that role and that was the start. I finished the job, comprehending that an interior advisor is what I had needed.
Certain that other homemakers in similar predicaments needed the same thing I decided to come to the rescue as 'The Independent Eye'.
The Perfect Interior...
...should have colour and warmth in equal measure to create a calm and comfortable home.
More often than not a client finds a space in their house unsuitable but cannot work out why. As our lives change, our houses need to alter to suit, so often it is just a case of a new pair of eyes to see what is needed.
I can look at a room and am able to see what is missing or what should be altered. My Norwegian background gives me a sense of order and style that lends itself well to creating a harmonious space. Seeing a room's potential, I consider the individuals who will use the space and how they react within it.
Even the most self assured homeowners can reach a point where they have questions and hesitate to find solutions. After a few hours with me, you will have the confidence to continue the project to fruition. My aim is to give you the confidence to decorate in a way that reflects and brings out the best of your style, not mine. As a colour consultant, I will help you through the quandary of choosing paint colours, as well as hanging artwork and moving furniture into new places if needed.
As a firm believer that your life is reflected in your home, re-organising using your much loved possessions collected during your life should be part of the decorating process.
My motto is; "Use what you have and enhance it"
The amount of time spent with you will vary according to the home involved but it is a minimum of 2 hours and priced on an hourly basis after that time. My visit will be followed up with a lengthy list of what we have discussed with top decorating tips and where to buy things you may need. Mileage is charged depending on location, there are no hidden costs, just a one-off fee. Should you ever need my help following that, my time is charged by the hour.
